If you are under weight and looking to gain weight you will want to increase seriously your intake of good fats and living greens.
More than likely dealing with yeast and fungal issues as well. Here is a great shake recipe given to me by a very skilled micro colleague of mine Kate A'vard from the pH Miracle program who's worked extensively with this concern and with athletes as well. Here is her advice:
Weight loss common to yeast problem and thyroid being compromised.
I would get on a blood building programme, its not enough to be taking greens on their own in water.
Get 1 litre of pure vegetable juice per day loaded with greens powder (build up to 3 - 4 scoops) Also 2 tsps of biolive sprouts every hour for the first 48 hours and then 1 scoop every hour for a week, then 1 scoop every couple of hours for about a month. She should see a shift.
Start blood building with greens powder, at 4 litres, 6 scoops per litre
And 8 tablespoons of oils per day. I would start off on an avocado shake recipe below
1/2 chopped cucumber 1/2 chopped pink grapefruit 3 avocadoes (yep) water Blend til smooth Add sprouts Add 3 tablespoons of oils (hemp/flax/coconut) Add 2 big handfuls of spinach Blend now until smooth You will need to get the spatula in to push it all down.
This makes about 600 mls or 18oz of shake.
this should help. Putting on weight takes time if the digestive tract is compromised. If she is using greens without increasing the concentration then all she will do is lose weight and not gain it.
